I am looking to see if I was adopted by Harold W. Collins between the years 1951 and around 1962. My real name is Gilbert Jolicoeur. My mother is Aline Jolicoeur (maiden name Beaulne.) Aline Jolicoeur married Harold Collins in 1952. I have a birth documents from the province of Ontario that state I was born ’Jolicoeur’ and yet I have the small birth certificate from the Province of Ontario that states my name is Gilbert Michael Collins. Does this mean Harold Collins adopted me? If not, why do I have document from the province of Ontario that state I have two different names.
