I am looking for my father’s birth family. His birth name was John Lewis Wicklein and according to the birth certificate that he received many years after his birth, he was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His adoption took place through the West Oklahoma State Home for White Children in Helena, Alfalfa county, Oklahoma, to which he was sent by the county court of Oklahoma county, Oklahoma. He was first placed with his adoptive parents on Oct 21, 1934, and the adoption was completed on March 8, 1935. According to his birth certificate, his birth was not recorded until November 2, 1934, after he was already placed in his adoptive parent’s home. We have no information about his birth family since there are no parental names or any other information included on his birth certificate.
