I was born in Tulsa‚ Oklahoma to an unmarried mother however‚ I believe I was conceived in California. Her name was Lila Lee Dodson. However‚ the name on the birth certificate was Taylor. Mr Taylor was believed to be a friend who gave her his name‚ but he was not my father. My father’s name is unknown to me. I believe he served in the military in World War II. I base this assumption on a trove of pictures given to me by her husband. One was of a soldier to whom my daughter and I bear a strong resemblance—but the man the picture was not identified. He was wearing a U S Navy uniform.
