My mom was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Oct. 20, 1946. There is no hospital or agency listed on her birth certificate. Her adoptive parents were Edwin (“Eddie” or “E.I.”) and Golela Novela Henry. Stories passed down said her biological family had several children and were unable to care for her. My grandparents moved to Oklahoma City in the mid to late 1940’s. Grandpa Eddie Henry was a hotel clerk for the Sieber Hotel before opening Eddie Henry’s Famous Cafe in downtown OKC in the mid 1950’s.
