My biological mother is Mary Catherine Laughlin (maiden)‚ aka Mary Catherine Paniagua (married). I was told that she gave me up for adoption because I was a product of an affair‚ and that I reminded her of my father‚ a man she met while working at a bar in‚ or near Fort Sill‚ Oklahoma. She said they broke up when his fiance came from out of town to visit him. I was told that shortly after my birth that he called Mary's mother to ask what color the baby's hair was (it was red)‚ and that he was in/or going to California. Mary said she couldn't remember his name exactly‚ but she believed it to be Dave/David McGowan (Sp?)‚ and he was in the Army‚ stationed at Fort Sill‚ Oklahoma during 1968. Clearly there's an embarrassing situation regarding my birth‚ and I fully understand that my birth father may not want this secret to be known by his current family. I'm not expecting a glorious happy reunion‚ but I am very interested in my heritage‚ and I would like to know my ancestry‚ so even if I never meet him‚ or that he's passed away‚ a name and date of birth and his genealogy would be appreciated (and maybe a picture too‚ I'd really like to know where the red hair and freckles came from!).
