My mother was born in Tulsa‚ OK on October 20‚ 1946. We believe her natural mother was at a home for unwed mothers somewhere in the Tulsa or Sand Springs area. Due to the time (1946) it is possible her natural mother is from Kansas‚ Missouri‚ Texas or Arkansas because secrecy was key during this period. My mother was not adopted until she was 6-8 months old. There is no hospital listed on her birth certificate. The attendant is listed as Jim Barnett. The name on her amended birth certificate is Carol Jean Henry. Her adoptive parents we Edwin “Eddie or E.I.” and Golela Henry. My grandfather was in the hotel and restaurant business and worked at the Densmore hotel in Tulsa‚OK before he and my grandmother moved to OKC. He then worked at the Black hotel and owned Eddie Henry’s Cafe. It’s unlikely the natural mother has any of this information but it’s worth a try. My mother passed away two years ago but she never stopped searching so I will continue the search for her.
