It was a private adoption. My dad’s Uncle, Bill McQueen, was a Pastor of an Assembly of God church in Lawton OK. He arranged the adoption. I was told my mother was a young girl who got pregnant by one of the men at Fort Sill, the Army base in town. I was taken home by my adoptive parents at two days old. We lived not too far away in a town called Duncan. My dad, Bill Newby, was a local pastor their of an Assembly of God church.
