I am searching for Marvin Edward Viock born to Anna Burdeen and Harry DeForest Viock on May 17, 1959. He is the eldest of the three boys the birthed. They lived in Norwalk, Ohio. Then, as shown on Page 11 of the Sandusky Register dated March 13, 1964, when Marvin was about age 6, he and his two younger brothers were awarded to the state and placed in various foster homes over the next 10+ years. Marvin may have been adopted, but I am not 100 percent on that. That is not what I have heard. Anna Burdeen, Mother (age 41 in 1964) and, Harry DeForest Viock, Sr, Father (age 41 in 1964), were both charged with contributing to the dependency and neglect of their three boys. They plead guilty and were sentenced and parental rights terminated. Anna was sentenced to the Ohio Women’s Reformatory State Prison and Harry was sentenced to the Mens Workhouse State Prison. I last saw Marvin in 1982. He worked on aunt and uncle’s farm. He obtained an agricultural degree in 1981 from OSU. Story has it that his younger brother, Merle Viock, told me that later in 1982, Marvin found out they were brothers. They had a big argument with Marvin stating that never should have happened to them. They were close until that time. No one has seen Marvin since 1982 and he cannot be located and is NOT in ANY databases. It has been told down the line that he drove out west at that time (possibly headed to AZ or CA). He apparently never made it. Rumor has it his vehicle was found deserted in the Mojave Desert. There was NO SIGN of Marvin but there apparently WAS $500 or something like that on the seat of the vehicle and a possible suicide note. I want to find out any information possible. We have also heard rumors that he joined a religious cult of sorts. To me, knowing him, THAT would have been more probable. I feel like someone needs to talk with his younger brother, Merle more. 8-10 years ago when I began asking personal questions to him and their cousin, Ida, she especially would not go into detail. Well, any help is appreciated so much. Thank you for reading.
