I was born in Akron Ohio July 5,1966. Hospital unknown. I was adopted through Jewish Family Services in Akron is an infant. They provided this information to me in 1995 when I inquired after the birth of my first child. My birth mother reached out to JFS and gave them this information a year after I was born. My birth mother was 24 years old and unmarried at the time of my birth. She had been living independently since the age of 19 when she moved out of her parents home due to her fathers abusive behavior toward her mother. Her parents divorced when my birth mother was 20. My birth mother was of Pennsylvania Dutch and German ancestry she had brown hair brown eyes and a tall thin build she was described as presenting an attractive appearance with a fresh and clean look. She was a high school graduate with average grades who had worked in a variety of secretarial and restaurant jobs to support herself. She was interested in homemaking and was quite talented in the areas of sewing and cooking. Her ultimate desire was to eventually marry which she later inform the agency that she did. My birth mother was the second of two daughters. Her medical history included an appendectomy at age 8, a tonsillectomy at age 16. Her blood type is O-rh positive. My birth father was 26 year old at the time of my birth he was described as a rather tall man 6 feet, good looking young man with brown hair and brown eyes. His ancestry was Hungarian. He was an average student and was steadily employed. He was married and had a family so he was not in a position to marry my birth mother. He did support her through the pregnancy and adoption planning, and met with Jewish family service adoption workers several times. Additionally, I just found out-through Ancestry.com on 11/2021 that I have a 1/2 brother (most likely based on cM DNA #’s). He and I have been in communication and are desperate to find out which parent we share. He is registered with Ancestry and we are working together to find our families.
