Hello, My cousin (Michael Richard Smith) was told he was adopted when he was 70 years old! He was told by his sister who also adopted from the same agency - Parmadale Childrens Home aka Parmadale Children’s Village of St. Vincent de Paul which was part of Catholic Charities - now closed! Neither of his adopted parents ever told him that he was adopted and are deceased! He has a West Virginia Birth Certificate with no parents names! The original Birth Certificate is held in Columbus, OH. We both have taken Genetic tests with Family Tree DNA and are not genetically related. I consider him my Cousin and always have and always will! He is a veteran of Vietnam and a Marine! This has shattered my cousin! His adoptive parents are my Uncle & Aunt Edward Michael Smith and Wanda Smith who were from Brooklyn, Ohio who also had a Daughter Joann Smith Salvatori Joann was born in 1921? and was a PanAM airline stewadess and 24 at the time of my cousin Rick’s birth?
