Interested in finding my grandmother’s 1st child who was born in March 1943‚ but after trying to make a life for him found herself homeless and unable to provide even what she considered a decent life. She said he deserved all joy and blessings life could give and she wouldn’t be selfish and keep him on the streets with her and wasn’t sure what else to do. My whole life‚ she wanted to find him but heartbreakingly she passed away in 2017 never having the opportunity to re connect with him. His birth name was Robert John Rowland Jr. after his biological dad. They called him “Jackie” though. I believe she used Lutheran Social Services to assist with the adoption process. She wrote in his baby book that she had to give him away and that he was adopted out somewhere between June and July 1947. He had just had his tonsils removed in April and was very sick with recovery from the journaling in his baby book depicted. Never again did she have any more news or information or contact. She was heartbroken my whole life about this. She had a spiritualist medium psychic type person once tell her that he was a world traveler‚ possibly a lawyer‚ and doing well. She clung to this hopeful yet frivolous information which kept her believing she did right by doing what she had to do for him despite her own misery over it.
