Letter from my Aunt: Dear Jeannine (Gig), I hope that my memories of your time living here will help you find peace in the years ahead. I drove you to the hospital in the evening of Dec 21st, 1075. Tom stayed home with Janet (Ivy). The hospital was St. John Hospital on Detroit Rd. in Cleveland. (The hospital has since moved to Westlake, OH and become St. John WestShore Hospital.) As I’m sure you remember, Baby Boy Minnis was born December 22nd, 1975. He was a perfectly healthy, full term little guy. The attending physician was Dr. John C. Campbell (now deceased). The adoption was handled by Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services (currently at 3955 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH, 44115.) They were granted permanent custody through Juvenile Court sometime in March 1976. The social worker told me your son was adopted by a couple on the east side. (I think maybe Highland Heights.) You were so sweet and so brave through your whole labor and delivery and actually through your whole time with us. We couldn’t have asked for a better niece and surrogate daughter.
