I have a copy of the court document for my adoption. They spelled my last name differently than my birth mothers and they spelled Erie, PA "Eire" as my place of birth. I contacted the Butler County Historical society a couple of years ago and they found nothing on her using both spellings Stephens vs Stevens. My dad (adoptive father) told me she was from a wealthy family and got in trouble so they sent her away until she has me, to Erie PA. My adoptive parents were looking for a child to adopt and mentioned it to my dads brother who’s wife’s father was the doctor of my mother in PA. Some sort of arrangement was set up to get me at three days old.
