Transcript of the letter summarized: Adoption through Friends (quaker) Church, working through (great aunt and uncles) church pastor. Adopted as Joseph Ray Jenkins. Birthday November 23rd, 1954. Pastor’s of Springfield Ohio church. The pastors wife (Mrs. Jacobs) was on the board at ’Friends Home’. Your name (my father) was Harrison. Probably mothers name. Clintonville Ohio, near Columbus. Mother worked at Lockhorne army base, had other children. Father was a soldier, officer from Chicago. Mother - Irish Catholic. Agency run by the Ernest Cady’s (<Ernest word is hard to make out in letter, not 100% sure this is correct) out of Columbus Ohio. Father was 6 weeks old at the time.
