Seeking to connect with paternal relatives of Nova Scotia closed adoption. Birth Father’s Information: Adoptees father is unknown, description on adoption records: Sgt. during WWII, likely born 1912 (31 at time of adoption), baptized Catholic & married with 1 adopted child. (Wife is not the birth mother). I believe he would also be of french descent/acadian. DNA matches indicate connections to surnames: Arsenault, Leblanc/White, Poirier/Perry, Theriault, Thibodeau, Leger, Bourque, Hache-Gallant, Goguen, Melanson, Richard, and many more. Seems to have connections with: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, P.E.I., Massachusetts, Maine, Louisiana. Adoptee was give up so birth mother could return to the army after finding out about the affair. Adoptee/Birth Mother Information: Donna Macdonald was born in Glace Bay Dec 29, 1943 to B. Macdonald (Out of respect for living relatives, I am not disclosing her first name for general public). Donna was born in St. Joseph Hospital & entered into the adoption institute January 11th, 1944. I believe she remained in the Little Flowers Institute/Orphanage until she was later adopted by Mary A. MacNeil (Morrison), & Hugh MacNeil. Any help would be so greatly appreciated, if this sounds like someone you may know, please let us know, no judgement or bad feelings are felt about the adoption. Adoptee is getting into her later years & it would be very appreciated to be able to complete her life long search, find out about potential medical issues, discover our ancestry, & meet relatives who would like to connect. Thank you for any information you may have!!
