I’m looking for information relating to my maternal grandfather who went by Robert Michael Fairclough born between 1900-1904‚ he had 2 days of birth 10th of June and 18th November with varying years as he lied to get into the army early. On his marriage certificate his father’s name was listed as James Fairclough. We have no information other than his marriage and death certificate along with some army information. He also told my mother he was born in County Mayo and was sent to Lancashire to an orphanage but there’s absolutely no record of him ever being born so‚ it’s possible his name was not Fairclough at birth.
