Macclesfield, NC?? I am white and was adopted by a white family in Rocky Mount, NC. I believe one or both of my birth parents were from Edgecombe County, NC, specifically the Macclesfield area. DNA matches suggest that birth family lineage relates to the following names: Varnell, Ayers (possibly related to Owens, Brantley, Lamm, Denton, or other lines). My birth certificate that has my adopted parents’ names on it say I was born December 5, 1945, but December 5th was also my adopted grandmother’s birthday, and I have wondered if that date was picked by my adopted parents. My adopted parents’ last name was McMillan.
