It was the Children’s Home Society in Greensboro, NC. I believe I was born in Tarboro, NC. My birth name was James (first name). I had 3 older siblings and my birthmother was pregnant with another when I was given up for adoption. My birthmother was white but she had been with a black man with me so I’m the only mixed race baby from her. I was told my birthmother first tried to have her cousin adopt me but that did not work out. I was adopted by a couple from Charlotte, NC. The Social Worker’s name was Sophia or Sophie I believe. thank you.
