My name is Reilly O’Neill‚ my father’s name was Eugene Walter O’Neill III. When he was around the ages of 17-22‚ he had a child with a woman named Ann (from my uncle’s memory‚ who knew/worked with her‚ he recalls her having an Italian last name) She potentially lived in Greensboro‚ North Carolina. They had a child together who was put up for adoption after birth. From my knowledge‚ it was a closed adoption and the child never reached out or tried to contact my Father. My dad recently passed away‚ but when he was alive‚ he explained that he had never reached out or tried to find his son/daughter (everyone seems to believe it was a son‚ but I am not sure why‚ as this was never confirmed as far as I know) because he was afraid to disrupt the child’s life‚ but he was open to the kid reaching out if he/she ever wanted to. My dad felt guilty for a long time because of this‚ but had always encouraged me to search for my half sibling. Since my dad’s passing‚ I am looking to reconnect with my sibling and potentially create a connection with them since I am an only child.
