I was born in Charlotte‚ North Carolina. I am not sure if I was born at Carolinas Medical Center or Presbyterian Hospital. This was a private adoption and it was done through Social Services at the time. James Brooks Greenwood III is my adoptive father. Pamela Herndon Greenwood is my adoptive mother. I was officially brought home on February 18‚ 1982. We call this my “homecoming”. I was 9 months old. My sister‚ Joanna Brooks Greenwood was born on Feb. 16‚ 1974 and was also adopted (not the same birth mother). All I know that my parents told me Is my birth mother would not disclose who the father was and they were instructed by an attorney to place an ad in the paper allowing the father the come forward. Nobody ever did. So I don’t think a father is listed on the original birth certificate. I did call social services years ago to ask about medical records but was told I could not have access without the birth mom approving it and it was unlikely I would find out much of anything. So‚ I never pursued anything further.
