I know that NC is a state that still deals all adoption records, so its sites like this, ancestry, 23 & Me etc to help. My parents married in 1964 and started trying to start a family shortly thereafter. After several years of no success, they were told they would not be able to concieve. They then decided ro adopt. They went through Martin County, NC DSS. My brother was adopted via Childrens Home Society in Tarboro, NC (Edgecombe County). Our parents were from Williamston, NC (Martin County). They picked him up/brought him home on June 11, 1970. He was just shy of 5 months old. We were told that his bio parents were 19, college students, unmarried, and not in a position to raise a baby. Our parents were then able to concieve and give birth to 3 biological children.....me (b 1972), a boy (b. 1981) and a north boy (b. 1983). We all have known about my older brothers adoption since day 1(I dont ever remember a time I didn’t know). Our parents were killed in a car accident in 2008 and it was after that that I started thinking about my brothers bio parents. He has 2 children (a girl 21, and a boy 17)
