I am looking for my sister’s son who was given up shortly after birth. My sister was 19 at the time she gave birth and she just could not take care of him. She wanted him to have a better life than what she could offer him. She tried to find him before she passed in 2006 and I have been trying to help find him since. My sister’s name was Susan A. Kirtley at the time of the birth. Her son was born at Albany Medical Center approx. 1/7/1969 and she gave him the name Joseph William Kirtley. Birth father is William Stafford. I believe his adoption was through Catholic Charities. My sister registered on the New York State Adoption Registry in hopes that her son might be looking for her too.
