Joyce Keyser was tricked by her Mother that Frances Mendola had died. Joyce (the birth mother) was under age at the time and living in a home for unwed mothers. Joyce wanted to keep the baby (Frances) but her Mother and the Father’s Mother were dead set against it. Joyce planned on keeping Frances and was living at the home for 6 weeks. Joyce grew up devastated that she had a child who didn’t make it and kept that sadness her whole life.
