Hello, I’ve been wondering about my adoptive parents and the circumstances of my adoption my whole life. My adoptive parents never discussed it with me. I was born in Albany, NY. I was brought to visit a Mrs Dorothy Race Brown on Academy Rd Albany annually on my birthday and Christmas. I do not know the connection. My birth mother was 34 when I was born, white and had delivered one other child before me. The whereabouts of that child was not listed. Nor was a father listed. I did a DNA study through Ancestry.com and I am somehow connected to the Smith family in Catskill that owned the coal yard and RE Smith fuel. I have not yet been able to identify if it’s a maternal or paternal connection.
