I was born in Kingston NY on May 4th 1965. Birth Certificate had the name Albert Hommel. Not sure if that was my biological Mom’s fathers name as I had been told she was 14 when she had me. I assume that an adult figure had to sign to release me for adoption. Again I’m not sure if Albert Hommel was my Father’s name or my Grandfathers name. I was told my biologically father joined the Army. I have also been told I am of German decent.... hence the last name. I was adopted by a couple who’s last name was Fitzgerald. I have long suspected that my adopted parents knew one of both of my biological parents both of whom are now passed. I realize it’s likely my birth parents are no longer alive but if they are I’d like to know. I spent part of my childhood in NY but my adopted parents moved south. I had a stable life and lived my adopted parents dearly...... but now that they are gone and I have children I wonder if my real Mom ever thought of me. I wondered if she just wanted to know I was OK. I’m sure I will meet her if not in this life then I’m the next. Thank You for having me..... it couldn’t have been easy to give a child up or to have been made to give a child up. No doubt you ARE strong and have endured much...... Thank you for having the courage to have me.
