I am looking for my half-sister. My mother gave birth at age 15/16 in New York City in 1941/1942 during hot weather, after which she contracted childbirth fever and was very ill for 6 weeks. The father was married and he and his wife cared for the baby girl during that time and all decided it would be best if she gave up the baby to them. I do not know if it was done legally. The only information I have is my mother’s name - Dorothy Gertrude Brown born September 23, 1925 in Warren, Ohio. She told me all this on her deathbed at age 80 and could not remember the father’s name, date of birth, name of baby, hospital, etc. She said it was very HOT while she was sick, so she thinks it was summer. I would love to make contact and know who my sister is. I am 66 years old now and she would be 75-77 years now. (Spring 2018)
