William Shewell and Margaret (Egert) Shewell adopted Dawn Hope Shewell. She was the only child. I believe she was born in either Brooklyn or Queens on June 1st 1929. William and Margaret lived in Brooklyn for years then moved to queens between 1925-1930 Dawn does not appear on the 1930 census in residence with her adoptive parents ( she would have been 10 months old) We believe she was adopted between the age of 10 months to 2 yrs of age.
