My grandmother was born in December of 1934 and we believe she was either adopted at birth or shortly after. As her adoptive parents died when she was young and she was raised by an aunt, she was unaware of the adoption until she and my grandfather were divorced in the 1960’s. She died in 1993, never learning where she came from. I was only a child at the time, but have been told that she always wondered about her birth family.
