My birth name is Anthony Allan Bastone born June 19, 1945 in the Bronx,NY. Cert #BX 70358. My adoptive parents were Vito and Laura Panza. I was adopted on December 4, 1945 at a Surrogates Court, held in and for the County of Bronx, at the Bronx County Building, in the Borough of The Bronx, City of New York. Order of adoption #239. I do not know the first name of my father. 20 or 25 years ago I had dinner at the Pine Tavern and the bartender, Freddy, said dinner was on them as I was a cousin. He also said my grandfather Patsy had died recently and My Father was in the office. Don’t know why but I just left a tip for the waitress and left. Should have asked to speak with him but I was just shocked that everyone on the Bastone side seemed to know about me. For a long time I thought my cousin Rosie D’Erasmo Lipiro was my mother but no one ever confirmed it to me plus no relatives from my adoptive relatives side come up on 23 and me which I am sure some of them have probably used it. Then the only other clue I have is that on my adoption papers is the name Christine Madeline Brown but I was told that was most likely the name of the Advocate for myself/my mother but ???? I am not looking to bother anyone at all and at the ripe old age of 73 want a whole new family. I am just wanting to know who my birth mother was and why so much secrecy. It was very hard for me I found out I was adopted at my adoptive mother’s funeral when someone who was introduced to me said "oh I remember you you are the adopted son!" My adoptive father went to his grave less then a year later never telling me who my real parents were. He would always say "I am your father". After he died, clearing out his apartment I found the adoption paper with the name Anthony Allan Bastone. If you can give me any information at all it would be most appreciated.
