My biological mother was 19 years old when she had me. She had completed 11th grade. I was born in Hamilton, New York. My biological mother did not want to give me up but wanted to give me the best life I could have that she could not provide. She wrote me a letter the day before she signed my adoption papers. She gave my social worker Sister Mary Jane Wilcox an outfit for me for my first Christmas. I was adopted through Catholic Charities of Syracuse. I do have a piece of paper give to my adoptive parents stating information about my biological mother but the papers from the New York State Department of Health do not have any of this information. My biological mother signed up through the New York State Department of Health to initiate contact with me if I ever sent in my consent which I just did bit have heard nothing back.
