I do know Birth mother’s name, etc. Rebecca Thomasina Thompson. Born in 1917, South Carolina. Died 11 days after birth. Wasn’t married. Used Thomasine as first name in NY. Buried in South Carolina. African American. Adoption: Adoption conducted in NY, NJ and SC. Adoptive parents were Mr. Lesley John May and Mrs. Florence Annabelle (Cantrell) May. Was told because maternal family from SC, required/received family approval. Don’t know why went to NJ. Current have DNA results at 23&me, ancestry, and family tree. In addition, strong possibility father either white or mixed. I was told father ended relationship because of pregnancy. Also told I and father were both very good with our hands. My parents & birth parents were close friends.
