I was born in Rochester‚ NY and adopted at 24 months after spending time in over half a dozen foster homes. I know very little about my adoption since my records were sealed‚ the process was kept quiet‚ and the Catholic agency and/or the hospital never revealed to me. The facts I do know are limited. My birth name was Karen but my adopted dad changed it legally to Debra Anne after my adoption. My adopted mom's name is Carol Jean Ezick who was married‚ at the time‚ to my adopted dad Robert Leroy Thews‚ a graduate of MIT who later became The Dean of Physics at the UofA. Robert is the son of Edith Cowger and Roy Thews who are my adopted grandparents. In 1973 my adopted parents‚ their biological son Douglas‚ and myself moved to Tucson‚ AZ. My birth parents were both in their early 20's‚ not married‚ Catholic and in college at the time of my birth is what I've been told. I have been searching for my biological parents or anyone that is related to me since my graduating college in 1991.
