I’m searching for any relatives I may have out there. I was born Sept 21‚ 1963 at 5:55 PM ‚ just a little premature‚ at Danbury Hospital in Danbury Connecticut. According to the paperwork I had‚ my birth mother was a Betty Jane Sullivan of Carmel NY. She actually brought me outside from the hospital‚ & handed me to a nurse‚ who handed me to my adoptive parents. Mom said she was a tall slender redhead who had two small boys with her‚ so that would be my brothers. (Or half brothers) I was adopted by a couple from Wingdale‚ NY with the lady name Conditto‚ they both worked for the Harlem Valley State Psychiatric Hospital in Wingdale. A lady mom worked with there told her she had a friend who was pregnant but couldn’t keep the baby. So Mom made arrangements to pay her hospital bills and for the attorney fees for the adoption through an attorney in Wingdale‚ Poughkeepsie or maybe Pawling NY‚ I’d probably know the name if I ever saw it again Mc something I think‚ like McMillian). The lady mom worked with acted as the go between between her and my birth mom. The only info I have is the name of my birth mom‚ Betty Jane Sullivan‚ of Carmel NY‚ but the name on my crib card was Cindy Sonberg‚ so I’m not sure if that was her maiden name‚ my birth father’s last name‚ or what. It also said I was her third child on my birth certificate‚ which makes sense with her two sons. I was also told when they laid me in her arms after the delivery‚ she said "I always wanted a little girl"‚ but I don’t know if that came from the go between or who. That lady also told Mom my birth mom worked for IBM in NY‚ and wore a corset throughout the pregnancy so no one would know she was pregnant. She did go to CT to have me instead of NY‚ so that part may be true. I’ve always thought that’s why I’m so tiny still!! My birth mom had two young boys with her when she came out of the hospital‚ ages 4 to 6 & 6 to 8 years old range from what my adopted mom said‚ but she was guessing on their ages. Both of my Adopted parents are gone now‚ and I have children and grandkids of my own. Mom was told a few things by the go between‚ but we aren’t sure how true they are. She had told Mom my birth mom was short‚ dark haired with an olive complexion‚ which turned out to be the polar opposite from a tall slender redhead with fair skin! I have the same‚ red hair‚ green eyes‚ fair skin and freckles. And I can’t gain a pound without seriously trying! So I took after her I guess. I’m mainly interested in in any family history‚ and in knowing what conditions or diseases run in our family. I doubt my birth mom is still alive as I’m now 60‚ but if she is I’d love to have a chance to thank her for caring enough to carry me for 9 months & have me and then give me to a good family! I had a good life. I’d love for her to meet her grand kids and great grand kids as well. And if live to meet my brothers too.
