The adoption of my son was handled by Spence-Chapin Agency in New York City‚ NY. On July 4th‚ 1957‚ I had given birth to my son at Booth Memorial Hospital (I believe the hospital was in Queens‚ NY). I gave a false name to Spence-Chapin I think I said "Linda Johnson." That was to protect myself from my family in Illinois finding out about my situation. I told them that I was 1/2 English‚ Irish and Scottish and 1/2 Norwegian. I said that my son’s father was Spanish. This was not quite true as my son’s very nice young father was Mexican and Spanish. He was 18 years old when I got pregnant and I was 19. My son was adopted by an older couple I met them at the Spence-Chapin office. I think they were from Connecticut. I’m from a very nice family and I don’t want to intrude on my son’s life‚ but I have lots of interesting information that he and his family would likely want to have. I went on to become a successful fashion model in New York City‚ I joined MENSA‚ then became a legal secretary. I traveled the world‚ I dearly love all animals and owned beautiful Arabian horses.
