Mary Burke/Mary Brady was born July 7, 1937,committed by the Department of Welfare of the City of New York, September 13, 1937, to the New York Foundling Hospital. Mary knew she was adopted and past this information on to her children. As one of her daughters, I and my siblings, have always wondered if there was family who wanted to know about her or us. We are curious to learn about them. It has left a hole in our family tree and would love to fill it in. I have all the adoption information, but no parent names were ever released. I understand the mother was young and possibly worked at a library. She also seemed to be known to many of the sisters at the Foundling Hospital. Sister Kathryn McKeon, my great aunt, steered my grandparents to Mary, when they were looking to adopt. Another sister involved with Mary, was Sister Agnita Miriam. The adoption was complete in 1941. Mary was adopted by Agnes and Frank Beebe and named Catherine Mary. If anyone could assist, we would consider the help a blessing. Thank you! Catherine Cass
