I am searching for 2 brothers whom were adopted at around ages 3 and 4. Their birth parents are Juan Catoni DeLeon Cruz, and Virginia Gefell. My brothers were born in Rochester, New York around 1975 and 1976/77. They are very close in age. We would share the same father, as my father had me with my mother in 1987. I do not know birth months or days for my brothers. Theirs names are James Christopher DeLeon Cruz and Christopher Luis DeLeon Cruz. My father says that during adoption, the new parents agreed to keep Cruz as their last names. Also, that were being adopted out of state. Virginia will not give any information or speak to me about the adoption, but my father and I are close, as I found him and that side of the family when I had my son 12 years ago. It took me 2 years, but I found him! We all still live in Rochester, New York, and I have actively connected with so much of my family on my dad’s side through Ancestry.com and research. I am registered with the New York State Adoption Registry, but my siblings are not, as of yet. New York State did just pass into law that any adoptees over 18 can obtain original pre adoption birth certificates listing their birth parents. I really hope my brothers read this and reach out. I am waiting to introduce you to your brother, and your niece and nephews.
