My mother was born in Brooklyn Methodist hospital. She was given up at birth and the ’transfer’ was handled by a private attorney with some association of a Catholic church. Those records no longer exist. Mom’s original birth certificate bore the last name of Lewis. I don’t know if that was her mother or fathers last name‚ as she was unwed. Mom very much wanted to locate her birth parents and possible other siblings‚ but her search ended with her passing in 1993. I am hoping some relatives will surface.
