My aunt‚ who was from New Brunswick‚ Canada‚ gave birth to a baby boy on April 11‚ 1954‚ in New York City. Unfortunately‚ at the time‚ Canadian babies were given up for adoption to U. S. adoptive parents‚ most of them Jewish‚ through some black market arrangement. Birth dates and names were changed and it’s been very difficult to get any information. My aunt did not remember a hospital name or doctors‚ etc.‚ only that she was in NYC and living with a Jewish family as a nanny for their two girls and she was quite certain that this family adopted her child.
