I am looking for the true story regarding my mother-in-law’s adoption. We have been told two different stories. Her name is Linda Belle Poland. The story that she has been told is that she was born March 23, 1950 in Lyons, New York to a Dorothy Porter. She was then adopted at 16 days old by Donald Benjamin Poland and Vera P. Bush Poland. Another story we (my husband and I) have been recently told (by a distant family member) is that she is the biological child of Donald Poland and his sister-in-law, Mildred Bush Roush. My mother-in-law does not know this story. My husband (her son) does not want to tell her this unless we verify the truth. My mother-in-law is in very poor health at 67 years old. We are just trying to find the truth before her time is up. Thanks!
