My son was born in Newburgh‚ NY while I was away at basic training in Texas. I believe it was St. Luke’s Hospital. This was an open adoption and I believe his adoptive family was from Vermont. In my absence‚ my parents were able to meet him and the adoptive parents. My mother gave them a letter with some family details to include my mother’s maiden name of McAlpine.
