Birth mom was aged 20 and in college in California at the time she got pregnant. She moved back to Plattsburgh‚ NY‚ where her family is from‚ to have the baby. Birth mother tried to raise her son but eventually gave him up for adoption when the child was approximately 7 months old. Father Joseph Aubin was the Executive Director of Catholic Charities in Plattsburgh‚ NY at the time and helped arrange the adoption through Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Ogdensburg. The Gallagher family eventually adopted the child. The family took custody of the 7-month-old in Potsdam‚ New York sometime between the end of June through July 1965.
