I am the daughter of a male who was adopted from a New York Jewish adoption agency in 1952, when he was two years old. He was adopted by Frank and Helen Rosenbaum, who resided in New York. I believe Frank was a firefighter at the time. Based upon my DNA results, my father (the one who was placed up for adoption), was of nearly 100% Ashkenazi Jewish heritage. According to my father, he once met his birth mother, who lived in Ohio and had become a psychologist and his father, who had become a physician. The birth parents, who reportedly never married, were in college at the time of the pregnancy. I do not recall where my father indicated his birth father was living when he met him. The birth mother, according to my father, subsequently married another man, possibly with the last name Rosenbaum, and had children. Reportedly, she never told her children about his existence because one of her sons became a Rabbi of a conservative sect and she did not feel this son would accept this fact.
