For years I have searched for my biological mother-I have little information. I believe the adoption took place through the Rockland County Welfare Department/Department of Public Welfare in Pomona, NY. I know I was born in Cornwall, NY. the description given of me was born 10/31/1962, 6lbs, 4 oz, blonde hair with reddish tinge, fair skin and dimple in chin and my given name at birth was Cynthia Phillips-they called me Cindy.-I believe my mother was approx. 21 yrs of age description given was 5’3" in height, slight build, reddish blonde hair, blue eyes, fair complexion with freckles and at the time was possibly a Rockland County Resident. She was or German-Irish descent. Information states she completed the 8th grade, but then went to work as her father deserted her family. Only father information given was that he was 35 yrs old, 6’2", thin build with reddish brown hair and brown eyes-it was reported he was a crane operator/construction worker from Ohio and that they had dated for months, discussed marriage but then he left prior to my birth. I truly seek just to find my birth mother-there is a missing link. I need her to know things-to know I had a wonderful life filled with love, compassion-a great up-bringing by wonderful parents. I need her to know I do not fault her for her decision and want her to know I think she was courageous and unselfish. I don’t want to disrupt her life-I don’t want anything from her other than maybe some inkling into medical past so I can advise my children of any hereditary missing links. If she wants a relationship-I am open to that as are my adoptive parents-but NONE of us want to pry or bring mis-fortune to her current life-I just need to know her see a picture of her hear her voice.....and let her know I am OK! I’ve gotten no where in my search-NY makes it next to impossible. If anyone has any information that they might think would help-please step forward and contact me. I am 52-she would be in her early 70’s now....please help!
