My Father James was born January 22nd 1954 in Brooklyn, NY. His birth name was James John Mayers (Although through further research I suspect he may not have been given a first name). His mother was 24 and his father was 30. His father was in the merchant marines. His mother had 3 children prior to his birth. James was adopted from Sheltering Arms in New York City in 1956, Today he has dementia and as his son, I am performing the search on his behalf to learn more about our father’s side of the family.
