Born June 9, 1961, at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital, Niagara Falls, NY-given name at birth, Sharon Lynn Brown. Was adopted through Family & Children’s Service of Niagara Falls, NY. I have the court adoption paperwork with no identifying information other than my birth name. I was only told my mother could not take care of me. I have a photo of myself and 2 other children wearing Halloween costumes while I presumably was in a foster home. I have completed ancestry.com DNA and have a possible second cousin match (high confidence) who is also adopted, birth name of Brockway. One or both of my birth parents might be Canadian. I was officially adopted on 10-23-1963. New York State has sealed records. I went to the NF Library 30 years ago and tried looking through microfilm for a birth announcement looking for any female born on that date with no luck. I was also told that my father might have been a gardener at the Horticultural Gardens in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, but not sure of this story. I looked in the NF New York City Directory for 1961 looking for someone who might have an occupational listing related to gardening, nothing found. Both of my adopted parents are deceased and apparently were not told much about my family of origin. I am hoping at this stage to get a name and/or information on any possible siblings that I might have.
