I was only 18 when I had to give up my baby and it broke my heart. She was so beautiful and they gave me a picture of her where she was waiting for her new parents. She looked just like me when I was a baby. She was born in NYC at a hospital in the Inwood district. Don't remember the name. I wasn't from NY. I went through the Lutheran services with a woman named Mrs. Lewellen. That is alI I remember. I didn't know the doctor. I had stayed in a home for unwed mothers at Inwood House in NYC and they made the arrangement for the hospital. They drove me to the hospital‚ and I don't remember the name. I'm now 82‚ and my memory is getting bad. My family was in Pennsylvania‚ and without the modern thinking there is today about out of wedlock pregnancy. I wasn't allowed to talk about it. I had to bury my memories of her. I did and do think of her often and often pray she was treated well and id happy and well.
