My mom (Patricia Ann Mahoney-birth name-Carroll) was born in Bellevue Hospital in NYC ON 8/8/1947. Her birth mother’s name was Jane Carroll the father’s identity is unknown. She was baptised at St. John the Evangelist church on 8/29/1947 and was then brought to the Foundling in NYC on 9/19/1947to be placed for adoption. She was also sent to a foster home in Pearl river at some point. She was adopted in January of 1951 but it was made official in October of the same year by a family court in the Bronx ,NY to Thomas J Mahoney and Alice Cummings-Mahoney. We would like to find her birth family including her birth mother if possible. Jane worked at Bellevue Hospital as a cashier and apparently lived in Manhattan during this time. She was a single mother and was said to be 20 years old when she gave birth and apparently attempted to raise my mom but could not for unknown reasons. Due to her having a fairly common name, locating Jane or any family of hers has been difficult. We want to help my mom connect with anyone that may be a sibling or family member. She would love to learn where she came from and would be so grateful to have a chance to be reunited with the mother or family that holds a part of her identity that only they can provide her with.
