My daughter was born in Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury NJ in July of 1967. I was 18 yrs old‚ and her father‚ John William Miller‚ was 17. We were only seniors in high school and were not married. I had 2 sisters‚ one of which was adopted‚ and my entire family insisted I place Heather Lynn Stanley (the name we gave to our daughter) for adoption to give her the type of life she deserved. My father took me to Canden NJ (I think) and made me sign papers. My mother would not come. This was a dark time in my life‚ I stopped seeing John‚ and moved away when I was 19. 2 years later a lawyer contacted me and said I needed to sign additional paperwork for "Donna" to be adopted (the name her foster family gave to Heather). This was more heartbreak. I think John also had to sign paperwork. I have no forms or paperwork. I believe my parents destroyed everything. I have tried to find Heather many times but keep hitting brick walls. I would only contact her if she wants to meet‚ but would give anything to tell her she has been loved every single day.
