My name is Jennifer Popow Zabala. I’m looking for my brother that was born in December 1973. We share our father,Walter Edward Popow Jr. My brother’s name was William Edward Popow but I don’t know if the adoptive parents changed it. He was called Billy. His birth mom was Joyce Ann Weiss Popow. She found out she had cancer when she was pregnant. Billy was born in December and Joyce died 2 months later. Her parents were Bernard and Jane Weiss,both deceased. She has a brother named Stephen(Steven?) Weiss that lives in Spring Lake,NJ. I’ve sent my info to him through the funeral home that handled Joyce’s services,Higgins Family Funeral Home. They said they’d pass on my info but I’ve heard nothing. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I just want to know he’s ok and had a good life. He was born in St.Barnabus hospital,that’s also the hospital Joyce died at. He adoptive parents were a couple that our father and Billy’s maternal grandparents knew from church. All of this,I think,took place in or around Union,NJ. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
