I‚ Forrest Spencer Chilton IV‚ am the adopted person. My father‚ Forrest Spencer Chilton III‚ was killed in World War II. Charles Pearson Meseroll married my mother‚ Marie Grabowski Chilton‚ on 7 February 1948. Her new husband‚ Charles Pearson Messerol‚ born November 7 1920‚ in New Brunswick NJ‚ adopted me early in their marriage I think in New Brunswick or Metuchen NJ. From that time until his death 18 October 2017 he was my father. On my mother’s death‚ I was the executor of her estate in support of one brother and two sisters. There were no papers relating to my adoption. I have certain papers that I may need to prove that I was adopted. I am looking for the official adoption papers from 1948. Thank you.
